A few weeks ago, I had a wonderful morning at low tide meeting up with Lindsay of Lindsay Amber Photography at the Salt Creek Recreation Area near Port Angeles, WA.
I packed two dresses into a day bag, had on a body suit and a skirt for the first outfit, and relished in the last of the warmth from a jacket before packing it away in the trunk of my car. I kept a light sweater on for while we walked around to spots, but wanted to keep my backpack mess-free for changing outfits. It wasn’t terribly cold but I didn’t want my goosebumps to mess up our photos! Lindsay wasn’t worried at all.
I made sure to keep sturdy boots on for our walk around the area as I knew we’d have to climb over a few rocks. I didn’t want to be slipping in flip-flops or ballet flats when all of my outfits were floor-length skirts and dresses. I also didn’t want to deal with my feet numbing up from the chill. They definitely got cold when I went barefoot for the blue dress with the slit! But I was thankful to have my socks and boots handy. “Beauty is pain” was a repeated phrase, both in my head and out loud to Lindsay and any passersby that commented on the cold. I really didn’t feel that cold until the end of our session.
The cold got to me a bit when I was modeling in the third outfit, seen in my last blog post. We had been out and about for almost two hours by this point, with me being a little crazy trying my best to modestly-but-not-so-modestly change outfits outdoors. But I felt amazing letting the wind billow through my dresses, especially the sleeves of this blue dress.
Salt Creek Recreation Area was so beautiful to explore. There were a couple of surfers out and about too! Definitely best to come to this place at low tide, as that’s when the water pulls out enough for the beaches to be explorable. And be sure to bring a warm jacket! The wind definitely picks up in this place.
I hope you enjoyed this little photo bundle! I ran out of space in my blog site media library, so it might be a minute before I make another blog post while I decide whether or not I want to put actual money into this!
